I should have been finished the breast cancer stitch by now, but I haven't picked it up since last Sunday night. Between work and my sickness, I've been taking NyQuil and falling into 6 hour dozes all the time. But I do have an updated picture of it, and all that's really left to do is the top half of the ribbon and the rest of the border. The border is simple, so I should have this stitch finished by my next post.

As you may have noticed my title states "Breast Cancer Stitch & Orchid for a Friend". My next project will be the "Orchid for a Friend" pattern from the October issue of The Cross Stitcher Magazine. The orchid has a beautiful yellow and green color combination, and the completed stitch would make a wonderful gift for any dear friend. I'm picking up my thread tonight, and hopefully I can convince my sweetie to buy me the 28-count Quaker cloth it requires. Be looking for that. :]

Hugs & Stitches,

Brittany

Breast Cancer Stitch & Future Stitch

've been working on my breast cancer cross-stitch for roughly half an hour to an hour each night. Until I'm done the ribbon, it will likely be an hour every night. I find that for myself it's easier if I chart the section I'm doing on graph paper and follow it from there. It makes it easier to concentrate on where I am and is much easier on my eyes.

I have downloaded a pattern maker, and am going to use it to get some pictures I want turned into cross-stitches. I'm using a free trial version for now, and depending upon how well it turns out I may even consider paying for the licensed version. We'll see.

Below is a photo of where I currently am in my breast cancer cross-stitch. On the left-hand side the box says "BELIEVE" and on the bottom the box says "HOPE".

Hugs & Stitches,

Brittany

Welcome!

I'm a recent cross-stitcher, and I've decided it's time to highlight my journeys. Hopefully this will help me keep on track with current projects (of which I have none at the moment).

Today when I get home I will begin stitching some breast cancer pieces from the October issue of the The Cross Stitcher. I thought they were lovely pieces, and they would be something simple to work on until I find a bigger piece to do. I'll likely frame them and then give them to someone.

I plan on posting progress every Saturday, so I hope you'll enjoy everything I put into it!

Hugs & Stitches,
Brittany
